We are pleased to announce the winners of the IUCN Global Marine and Polar Programme Oceans Photographer of the Year 2016 competition.
First we would like to thank all of the contestants for taking the time to send us absolutely fantastic entries. We received a total of 376 entries from 48 participants around the world. We had a great team consisting of Prince Hussain Aga Khan, Carl Gustaf Lundin, João Sousa, Giacomo Abrusci and Malini Pittet to select the winning photos.
As the quality of the images was very high, the selection process was a real challenge. We were overwhelmed by the fantastic entries. Please see the following pages as we would like to aknowledge the winners of each category.
