FUNCTION TO FASHION
by Jackie Muise
Sixty-two-year-old Lee Navid is living
proof that while you can take the girl
out of the Maritimes, you can never
take the Maritimes out of the girl. Although Lee has made Calgary, Alberta
her home for the past 40 years, the
pull of her east coast roots draws her
back every summer for at least a
month-long fix.

But before mini-golf and water slides,
Lee stops into an FYidoctors optometry
outlet to check out what is new in

Formerly known as Alliance Vision
Centre, FYidoctors on Mountain Road
in Moncton is one of 280 FYidoctor
locations across the country, all offering
a comprehensive eye-care service,
including the latest “Internal
Freeform” lense.

frames of the Leader-Elite are

aviator Conquests with mirrored
lenses. They are flattering, but she

continues to browse, eventually finding
herself beyond the ladies sunglasses

captures her attention. The frames are
black with pink accenting on the inside
and features interchangeable,
magnetized temple emblems in either
a circle of sparkling-diamond colours or
with a plain pink band.
