SEAT Global Magazine - Exclusive Interviews of Global Sport Executive Issue 03 March 2017 | Page 21

Ken Logan

Vice President of IT

San Francisco Giants

When was your first SEAT Event?

My first SEAT was 2007 in Scottsdale, Arizona. We got to tour the recently opened University of Phoenix Stadium as well as the Jobing.com Arena.

What is the most interesting thing about you?

I'm a blue eyed, left handed red head. I'm more rare than a white buffalo.

Do you have a significant other? Children?

I have two kids Lily and Tyler. They like to tease me by saying "Go Dodgers". I tell them that's cute but no more toys or clothes for you!

You're a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

I think every box of crayons should have a Ginger in it. A beautiful and fun shade of orange just like the people! Shameless plug but the San Francisco Giants are hosting their first ever Ginger Night in 2017. All are welcome because a face without freckles is like a night without stars!

Who was the executive you most admired during your career?

Bill Schlough, he has been a great boss, leader, mentor and friend.

What career advice do you have for people wanting to work in the sports industry?

If you can get your foot in the door, work hard and build relationships good things can happen. I'm living proof. This will be my 21st season after getting my foot in the door with the Giants.

Best compliment you have every received?

I was named by the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal - CIO Rising Star of the Year. That is the greatest compliment of my professional career.

What was your first job out of college?

Ticket Agent at the San Jose Arena

What I like that would surprise those who know me?

It was a short stint but I'm the former mascot for the San Francisco Giants. You can learn a lot being a "character".

What I like most about the sports industry or the business of sports?

What I like most is the passion and energy. Most people are in the industry because they love it. That makes the environment we work in a positive one.
