SEAT Global Magazine - Exclusive Interviews of Global Sport Executive Issue 02 February 2017 | Page 17

~ Resource Dashboard – shows the historical use of electricity, water, & natural gas, as well as the current useage and the projected future usage

~ Solar Thermal – free hot water from the sun – for use in kitchens, locker rooms, etc

~ Solar PV – free electricity from the sun – to lower electrical bills

~ Energy Efficiency Modifications:

~ Lighting Fixture replacements – utilize LED fixtures to lower energy cost for the light itself, lower cooling cost (for not cooling the heat the old light fixture reduced) and reduce maintenance (no more buying bulbs and replacing them)

~ Lighting Control upgrades – use the lights you have less- same benefits as listed above

~ HVAC System replacement/upgrades – same energy and maintenance

~ HVAC Control upgrades – Save energy and be proactive on HVAC issues instead of having to handle them in a crisis – it always costs much more to replace something in the middle of a crisis

~ Fuel Cell (emergency generator replacement/upgrade) – create your own electricity during peak energy times with equipment that can possibly double as your emergency generator

~ Energy Storage – store energy when you can make it for low costs, and use it when it is a high cost. PV in the afternoon is not as valuable as the energy it makes at 7pm, when most utilities peak.

~ Centralized Refrigeration Equipment – increase diversity and lower maintenance and energy cost

~Phase Change Materials – use materials as thermal load shifting to lower your utility costs

~ Daylighting – save energy on lighting and improve the quality of light in your facility

~ Electric Vehicle Chargers – you will be surprised of the demand for them 5 years from now. You will be glad you were ahead of the curve. You can charge the customer for the energy and look like a hero for being the only facility around with EV Chargers

Saving energy and resources does not have to be costly to a facility owner, and done correctly, it can save maintenance costs as well.

You’ll never know how much you can save until you get started.
