Three short months ago, professional soccer took a sharp right turn in Arizona. Originally named Arizona United SC, the United Soccer League (USL) team, based in Phoenix, was newly establishing themselves as a professional soccer franchise. Loaded with professional sports teams, the Phoenix market was proud to have a soccer team to call their own, but struggled to establish a community.
As of Aug. 31, a new team was born, Phoenix Rising FC, with 11 new owners at the helm. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of success, driven by a diverse group of owners with unmatched passion for taking professional soccer to the highest level in Arizona.
