LOU FERRIGNO

Heart of a true warrior.

By Al Mauro

A living legend in television, film and books, he's an inspiration to his many fans as a true motivational example of what will power, determination and inner strength can accomplish.

On a cold Orlando afternoon, I got a phone call. "Hey Al. It's Lou". Thus began our...I wouldn't call it an interview. More like an insight into an old friend. We spoke about things that inspire us and made us who we are today. I felt this was the Lou Ferrigno that people rarely see. I was taken aback at how real and genuine he is as a person.

At 64, Lou is still at the top of his game in his new action drama Instant Death out this spring. The two time Mr. Universe winner laid the groundwork in the late 70's to become the example of strength, not only of the mind, but of the will and spirit. Many fans will forever identify Lou as "The Incredible Hulk" and rightly so. However, this new film shows a very different Lou Ferrigno. It is a welcome showcase to a side never before seen and the range he has as an actor.

In an industry where many personalities are long forgotten, Lou Ferrigno still inspires everyone from fans to total strangers with his many amazing acheivements. He has personally helped so many make a positive change, not only in health, but in life. Lou is one of those rare individuals where the measure of his arms equals the strength of his heart. It is this author's opinion that many of today's elite should take heed in what being a humble example of celebrity is. As this issue's spotlight, we salute the "Incredible" Lou Ferrigno and we all should give him our undivided attention.
