The annual Saving Gaia initiative by MediaCorp returns to coincide with World Environment Day, renewing the company’s commitment to raise public awareness of environmental issues and going green.

World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly

in 1972

to mark the opening of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. It is held each year on June 5 and is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and how to achieve a sustainable future for all.

MediaCorp’s effort through the annual Saving Gaia campaign that was started in 2012, puts the spotlight on pressing environmental issues through various media platforms.

This year, popular tune ‘Save my World’ created for MediaCorp's Saving Gaia initiative is given a new tempo and makes use of animated characters in its music video to pass on

the green message.

In June, MediaCorp television, radio, print and online platforms will also feature ‘green’ content to educate and spread the green message.
