organizations, including the Agape Medical clinic, a free clinic which turns no one away and works with local hospital systems to provide care; the Open Door Preschool, aimed at helping those children for whom English is a second language prepare to enter area public schools; and a monthly free legal clinic. Grace is also preparing to move Ally’s House, a group that serves the needs of pregnant teens, into its parsonage. In addition, a duplex on the church’s property has been converted for use by the Bonhoeffer House, a new monastic community that is home to four seminary students who are focused on serving the homeless and meeting other social-service needs in this East Dallas neighborhood. Although the congregation is housed in a beautiful and historic building, it believes that “Grace is more than a building.
