Tie Down Roper Tyson Durfey is getting ready to set
the Thomas and Mack Arena on fire during this year's
Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
What’s making this trip even more special for the 9x
WNFR Qualifier is that his two biggest fans will be there
to cheer him on over the ten rounds.
Durfey’s wife, Australian country music sensation Shea
Fisher will be there with their new baby girl Praise Royal.
“The best thing about Vegas this year is that I can’t wait
to see what Shea has in store for Praises’ wardrobe,”
said Durfey.
The new dad couldn’t be more excited to have both
his girls with him as he looks to finish the year off with
a bang.
Adding to his team is his best horse Nikko, who he says
is just as awesome as always. They're keeping it light

and to the point when they hit the practice pen.
Not spending any longer than 30mins, Durfey said,
“We’re only doing enough to keep him sharp and fit, we
only tie two calves each day.”
With all that has changed for Durfey in the last four
months, he hasn’t changed much himself. Being a good
mentor to others is just as important to him now as it
was before Praise joined the family.

“It’s crucial to me to be a great mentor to anyone,
whether they are into rodeo or not. If I can help make
someone's day or life better for the positive then I am
one step closer to being the man I want to be,” said
Durfey.
With two great mentors he has himself - he credits a lot
to Fred Brown and Jay Novacek (American Footballer,
Tight End) - Durfey urges all athletes to make sure they
have a good mentor that will have their backs on good
days and not so good days.
Without these two men to help guide him both in and
out of the arena, he says he wouldn't be the athlete or
man he is today.
Getting set to head towards the bright lights of Las
Vegas, Tyson, Shea, and Praise are all excited to meet
the fans and share the love they have for the sport of
rodeo.
“For all the fans, make sure you keep checking social
media as I have loads of giveaways from Cinch and
Corral Boots during the WNFR,” urged Durfey.
RFM: We can’t wait to see what cute outfits Praise will
be modeling at the WNFR, we will be sure to share all
the photos that mom Shea will be posting - including
her daddy’s back number.
