Revive - A Quarterly Fly Fishing Journal (Volume 1. Issue 3. Winter 2013) | Page 96

We all have our own places and reasons why they are so special. For my friend, it became the new endless journey that is exploring the Driftless Region and feeling his heart skip a beat watching trout sip dries. It’s the places he’s been since, fly rod in tow, discovering new faces to the same places he’s gone for years.

For me, the Driftless has some of the best fishing in the US, but that’s only part of it. The endless opportunity the region presents – epic fifty plus fish days, native twenty plus inch brown trout, all in an awe inspiring landscape you’d never expect was in the heart of the Great Plains. But if you ask, I’ll still say it’s the Spotted Cow and cheese curds.
