Australian photographer Jane Long used 100-year-old Romanian photographs as canvases to create the digital prints you see here. The pieces in this feature are just a few of Jane’s astounding adaptations from a series taken by Romanian photographer Costica Ascinte, and subsequently restored by Cezar Mario-Popescu.
Jane’s work was exhibited at the Romanian Embassy in Canberra, Australia as part of a celebration marking 47 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Ambassador of Romania chose Jane’s work for its significance as “a space-time portal between Romania and Australia.”
