highly entertained by the strange new people there at the stables that afternoon.

Even though it was later than we had hoped when we arrived, lighting turned out to be perfect. The last of the golden hour was quiet on the back path to the small meadow behind McCarthy Farms. The autumn sky was blue velvet with a single streak of cloud burning in the last of the sunset. The branches of the trees were dark and their now-brittle leaves rustled softly in the evening.

Back inside the horses were still curious about the girls in Kathy’s dark dream makeup and the dresses that were so unusual for that place. We walked down the center aisle and they peeked out of their stalls to say hello.

AS DARKNESS FELL

We thanked Angela and headed back to Kathy’s place for a well-deserved root beer before washing off the dark eyes. Our thanks go out to Kathy for not only doing the makeup, not only introducing us to Angela. Kathy hosted this shoot in her home, and we made a very big mess.
