Arianna and Giada are strong in their commitment to their art. They understand the importance of balancing education, creation and community. The community studio is also a place where they can enjoy the fellowship of other ceramic artists. They consider themselves lucky because they live in such a very important area for ceramics, a place where they can be continually in contact with other artists and craftsmen.

The women of Bottega Krua enjoy being part of a circle of friends who meet on Friday nights to drink herbal teas and decorate ceramic tiles.

“There are moments of leisure, but also cultural exchange.”

Like all lifetime artists, Arianna and Giada find inspiration all around them. Some of their designs are born of random or fleeting images; the color and texture of a ruined door, the pattern of a fabric, a melody, or the silence of extreme serenity. But it is also important to them to look at what other artists are doing. Seeking communal relationships that extend beyond ceramics, they visit exhibitions of painting and sculpture, finding inspiration in the colors and shapes there. When they cannot physically explore the creative fires of artists around the world, they travel on the internet.

Arianna Piazza and Giada Fogliato of Bottega Krua are artists who embrace global diversity, not only in their medium, but in all art forms. That makes them ambassadors. We at Reverie Fair are happy that they reached across the ocean to share their culture of Italian ceramics through us.
