As a pastor of New York City’s largest church, Christian Cultural Center, Pastor Jamaal Bernard counsels people to build lives filled with purpose, determination and faith.
Pastor Jamaal is the Founder of the Christian Cultural Center fellowship of youth and emerging adults – C3, Christian Cultural Center Chief of Operations, Christian Cultural Center Director of Public Safety, overseeing all aspects of security on the 11.5 acre Brooklyn campus, Christian Cultural Center Ministry of Helps Director, managing 700 volunteers who address the needs of the congregation and visitors, the medical staff unit and the Customer Representative Training department
Pastor Jamaal speaks on a wide range of subjects to youth groups, in church, recreational and school settings. One of the things setting Pastor Jamaal's work with young people apart is how he reaches out and connects youth from different churches and areas to create a new model culture, by communicating truth on the streets, thereby cultivating seeds of greatness. As someone who believes strongly in the value of building bridges between different communities, he advises young people on the importance of building and maintaining relationships with others. Pastor Jamaal has led students across the globe on evangelical mission trips to countries such as Guatemala and Jamaica. In July 2008 the team traveled to New Orleans to help restore the city through the St. Bernard Parish Project. Local efforts include ministering to and feeding the homeless through organizations such as the Bowery Mission, Father’s Heart and Habitat for Humanity.
Pastor Jamaal advises couples entering marriage, while helping married couples navigate stressful times. He speaks at retreats, worship services, young men’s rallies, business conferences, graduations and school assemblies.
As a mentor, Pastor Jamaal advises business executives, community leaders, young people and anyone else seeking spiritual and professional guidance. Drawing upon his background in business management and customer service training, Pastor Jamaal teaches leadership and customer service classes.
He is currently pursuing his Masters degree at the Alliance Theological Seminary, Manhattan, NY, Pastor Jamaal is supported by his wife of sixteen years, Rita and their five children; Kamryn, Stephanie, Jamaal, Jr., Liam and Maali.
