Celebrating Achievement
2015 ended in celebration as we held the annual Student & Alumni Achievement Awards at Craiglockhart Campus . Over 100 guests were welcomed to celebrate the continued success of our students and graduates , as well as the support given to the University by companies , charitable trusts and individuals .

Student of the Year 2015
Awarded to School of Computing student , Charley Celicé , for his PhD research and contribution to the UK ’ s Universities Annual Cipher Challenge , which led to Edinburgh Napier taking first place !
Charley was joined by his parents who travelled to Edinburgh from Lury-sur- Arnon in France to see their son receive the prestigious award sponsored by Santander Universities .
Young Alumna of the Year 2015
Presented to Kelly Barbour , who was described as epitomising the ‘ Edinburgh Napier graduate ’. After graduating in 2013 with a BA ( Hons ) Communications , Kelly
combined two part-time jobs working with the Big Hearts Community and graduate placement company , ScotGrad , and has gone on to accomplish huge success . At the age of 24 , Kelly has worked her way up to and is now Programme Manager for ScotGrad .
The Young Alumna of the Year award has been kindly sponsored by the Cuminga Trust for a number of years .

Awarded to Joyce McAree who completed her Diploma in Careers Guidance in 2014 . Joyce ’ s career has been about making a difference wherever she has worked , and the award was given in recognition of the support and guidance she has provided the Students ’ Association and the successful
Santander Student of the Year 2015
launch of the student volunteering group , VBase . VBase is a unique and bespoke service to support the personal and academic development of students while giving back to the community .
The VBase Database was purchased in 2015 thanks to funding from the Carnegie Corporation of New York .
Joyce is also extremely active within the third sector and gives much of her time to
support wonderful charities in her local community . Her latest is The Edinburgh Tool Library , of which Joyce is Convenor of the Board of Trustees .
She was presented with the award by award sponsor Professor Aileen Lothian , Founding Director of Young SET Ambassadors .
