Jason Hite ( MSc HRM , 2006 ) currently Vice-President of Xcelerate Solutions in the USA , was awarded the Class of 2016 Game Changer and named as one of Workforce News Top 25 under 40 in

2016 , for his incredible track record of professional achievement in HR .
Beginning his career as an HR generalist , Jason has worked his way up through the years to become Director and eventually Chief Human Resources Officer . Jason also held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer at the U . S . House of Representatives for nearly 10 years .
One of his many accomplishments was to help the Deputy Chief
Administration Officer turn around the struggling payroll and benefits team — a problem that needed a speedy resolution . Jason worked tirelessly to stabilise the organisation and once again proved his value .
His project management skills were put to the test , and Jason led the turnaround , earning the respect of his peers , management and stakeholders on Capitol Hill . I can confidently say that we have the best Human Resources Executive in the industry .

BAFTA Scotland win for Edinburgh Napier graduate team

An Edinburgh Napier team landed one of the top prizes at the prestigious BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards in April .

Screen Academy Scotland postgraduate student Robin Haig and her team of Edinburgh Napier postgraduate alumni - Lindsay McGee , Mandy Lee and Claire Nicol - won Best Drama for her film Hula , starring Blythe Duff .
The film was co-written and directed by Robin , who graduated this summer , as part of the MFA Advanced Film Practice , and tells the story of Clara , an unhappy divorcee
who rediscovers the joy of life after opening a B & B in the Highlands .
Hula received funding through Allan Shiach ’ s Rafford which provides bursaries for MFA Advanced Film Practice students . Dr Allan Shiach is an Honorary Professor of Film at Edinburgh Napier University and writing as Allan Scott , he is an acclaimed screenwriter and film producer .
Screen Academy Scotland was well represented among the other nominees at the New Talent ceremony at Drygate Brewery in Glasgow .
Lucid , directed by Edinburgh College of Art student Lucy Joan Barnes with Edinburgh Napier postgraduate students on the crew ( Fraser Stephen , Cinematography ; Filip De Pina , Editor ; Nils Gustenhofen , Screenwriter ) was also nominated in the Drama category .
Another ECA Screen Academy Scotland film Lemuria was nominated in the Sound and Music Composer categories and Edinburgh Napier MA Film graduate Mihail Ursu was nominated for his camerawork on No Place Like Home .
