A submarine trip is also a brilliant experience
and runs day and night in Bridgetown
a camera. The relaxed ethos of Barbados
seems to filter down to celebrities too.
The beaches are unique as Barbados
laws provide that they cannot be
privately owned. So, as a visitor or a
local you have the freedom to enjoy the
beaches without restriction. For surfers
and body-boarders, Crane Beach on
the East coast is a must. Situated on
the North Atlantic Ocean, the seas are
cooler but adrenaline easily blankets
this. Warmer and calmer seas can
be found on the West Coast on the
Caribbean Sea.
Snorkelling in shallow waters is a relaxing
pastime. However, a catamaran trip is the

best way to enjoy the marine life to its full
potential. Visiting a shipwreck, swimming
with turtles and snorkelling in shawls of
fish is breathtaking. We took our entire
wedding party of 50 guests on a private
catamaran trip with Cool Runnings and
this was one of our best days of the
holiday. The crew were fantastic and
made it an unforgettable experience as
we danced our way back to shore.
A submarine trip is also a brilliant
experience and runs day and night in
Bridgetown. For the young at heart, the
Jolly Roger is a fun booze cruise where
we celebrated our stag and hen do with
our nearest and dearest followed by a
trip to Oistins.
For the sportier of you, the fishing is
amazing. On one trip, five of our guests
fed the entire wedding group at our postwedding pool party. Barbados boasts
some world-class golf courses and
cricket is the Bajan national sport.
No visit would be complete without a trip
on one of the local buses. Independently
owned, they are decorated with graffiti
by their owners and it is standard to
hear pumping reggae music to liven up
an already scenic journey, regardless of
the time of day.
The best time to go to Barbados is
from January through to April, as the
weather is the driest and least humid
