Albion End of Season
Awards
Dinner
Bringing to an end an unremarkable season at
the Amex, the annual awards dinner was a little
less celebratory than in previous years. Having
finished this campaign much nearer the bottom
than the top of the league there was still some
achievements to acknowledge on and off the field.
The Seagulls’ longest-serving player, Inigo Calderon, was
named as Brighton & Hove Albion’s 2014/15 Player of the
Season in the ceremony which was streamed live on the club’s
official YouTube channel. The Spaniard claimed top spot in the
poll with 37% of the vote, beating contenders Lewis Dunk, Joao
Teixeira and Rohan Ince to the award. Dunk came second in
the list with 24%, while Teixeira came third with 19% and Ince
finished fourth with 15%.
After coming third in the Player of the Season poll, Liverpool
loanee Teixeira claimed the Young Player of the Season award,
while Fliss Gibbons was named Women’s Player of the Season.
