This year Jazz FM have organised what will be the first green field jazz festival in the UK in over twenty years ! There is always something very moving about such a large brass performance and the history of the colliery bands as well as the continual threat to the band ’ s future since they were first affected by the famous 1992 pit closures , has a lot to do with that .
