Local recruitment boost
We became a founding partner of
CoastalWestSussexJobs.com,
1066Jobs.com and
LoveEastbourneJobs.com – which
means we’re part of a family of
online jobs boards and online career
platforms across the South East.
This means our firm has joined a
network of businesses committed to
helping local people develop the right
skills to secure employment. This is
Firm’s pedal power
One of our trainee solicitors, Jo Ironside,
came up with a bespoke fundraising idea
that raised £620 and involved some of our
staff cycling between six of our offices.
Staff could join for any stage and a hardy
few managed to complete the whole lot,
which amounted to 100 miles.
Beginning at the Dyke Road office in
Brighton at 7am, the first batch of cyclists
pedalled to the firm’s Seaford office. From
there, some continued and some joined in
from Seaford to Eastbourne.
good for us for several reasons. As
our business continues to grow, we
appreciate the importance of having
the county’s premier jobs board to
help us fill our vacancies arising as a
result of our expansion.
The founder of LoveLocalJobs, Gary
Peters, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome
Mayo Wynne Baxter as a founding
partner of our new jobs boards.”
Shortlist
success
We are delighted to announce that our firm
is in the running for a highly prestigious
award. We have been shortlisted for the
2014 Lexcel Award for Excellence in
Practice Management by The Law Society
Excellence Awards specialist judges. This
means we will be up against other top
firms across the country.
Having already won an award for our
corporate social responsibility earlier in
the year at the Gatwick Diamond Business
Awards, our staff hope for further success at
the ceremony held on 9th October in London.
The third and possibly the toughest leg
was from Eastbourne to Forest Row,
which was an impressive 29.2 miles and
took about three hours. From there it was
on to East Grinstead, then on to Lewes
and eventually back to Brighton.
The Law Society represents solicitors
in England and Wales and it will host
its awards ceremony on 9th October,
showcasing some of the best work in
the profession.
Cyclists were greeted at each office by
supportive staff for much-needed fuel,
including cake and water before they
finished the challenge to a big Macmillan
cheer. The team raised more than £500
for Macmillan Sussex.
New starters
We extend a warm Mayo Wynne
Baxter welcome to our new

joined us as an Accounts Assistant
at Eastbourne, Sylvia Garcia has
joined us as a Conveyancer at
Eastbourne, Asher Costidell has
joined us as a Practice Support
Group Team Leader and is
based at East Grinstead, Louise

She said: “The scariest moment
was standing in the cage 160 feet
up with my toes over the edge
while a man counted me down
to my jump – the views were
amazing though.”
A delicious barbecue was served and a
disco took place later on that evening.
The feedback from all who attended was
fantastic and we hope to repeat the event
again next year.

A summer party was organised by our
