C A R R E V I E W Jaguar F-Pace Ever since I can remember I’ve always had an interest in cars, and the object of my desires has pretty much been to own a Jaguar – class, sophistication, and a smooth ride………anyway enough about me, lets talk about the Jag! The closest I had been to having one was when I test drove a second hand X-Type before choosing my current car. Style and comfort were the order of the day back then. Sadly though, Mrs E wears the trousers in our house (apparently the dogs even ahead of me in the pecking order!?) as she wanted me to choose something smaller, in case she ever needed to drive it (?). That was a few years ago and things have moved on since then (though not my wife I hasten to add!). Step forward the lovely people at Harwoods Jaguar in Crawley with the stunning Jaguar F-PACE. I was due to attend a 25th Wedding celebration in Tunbridge Wells at the weekend and I wanted to arrive in style. So off I went to collect my stunning automatic 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbo charged R - Sport in ebony black on the Friday. Apparently I could have had the V6 3.0 litre version if they hadn’t sold it during the week! The very helpful Kerry took time to show me how all the gadgets and gizmos worked and after she directed me off the forecourt (I wasn’t not sure who was more nervous?) I settled back to enjoy what this Jag had to offer. What was immediately apparent was the effortless handling. To describe this feeling akin to gliding on a magic carpet would probably be a little extreme for a diesel, plus I can’t say I’ve done an impression of Aladdin recently!? But I certainly enjoyed 96
