MWB score big at the Amex This new sponsorship is coupled with an increase in our pitch-side advertising too which sees more of our famous lime green branding the LED boards as well as on both the South and West stands. Many people mistakenly believe that the signs on the South Stand are under our box but we have never actually had a box at the Amex Stadium. Mayo Wynne Baxter have had a long standing relationship with many sports clubs across Sussex and have been involved with the football club since their move to the Amex Stadium in 2011. Chris Randall, Chief Executive at MWB said: “We have been extremely proud to be associated with the Albion over the last five years and this new sponsorship for the next five years is the start of us working closer with the club to develop ideas on how we can offer preferential legal services for the fans.” L-R Chris Randall, Paul Barber & Dean Orgill If you have ever attended events at the Amex Stadium, you will probably know the cavernous room that is often used in the West Stand. For the past four years this has been known as the Bupa Lounge and holds 500 people on a match day and is used for hundreds of events on non-match days too. Following some pretty hard negotiations that started in September last year I was pleased to announce on the 1st July 2016 that this room will be known as the Mayo Wynne Baxter Lounge. This is the stadium’s flagship event space and is used by literally thousands of people from across Sussex who attend events there from weddings and Christmas parties to exhibitions and awards dinners. As a business the nature of what we sell is often considered to be a ‘crisis-purchase’ (most people hope to never need a lawyer – although we are here for the nice things too) so it is important that we are on the consideration list when people need legal services. A key way of being ‘front of mind’ when people need a solicitor is to have a strong brand presence across the county and sponsorships are a good way of developing that and demonstrating that we are part of the communities that we serve. This improved partnership with the Albion gives us a higher degree of visibility to the thousands of people that will use the Mayo Wynne Baxter Lounge and the millions that watch live games and highlights on the TV. This new five year deal with Brighton & Hove Albion FC puts MWB as one of the biggest supporters after the shirt and stadium sponsors - American Express. Paul Barber, Chief Executive at BHAFC added: “We are delighted Mayo Wynne Baxter have committed their support for a further five years, we have worked closely with, Chris and the excellent team at MWB on a number of internal projects over the last 3 years. The sponsorship of one of our premium matchday and non matchday lounges will further enhance our relationship and assist the team with increased brand awareness to our supporters, 1901 Club members and partners”. Recent years have seen the Albion come nail-bitingly close to making it into top flight football and I’m hoping that when they do our lime green boards are there demonstrating our support. To mark this new sponsorship we invited a few people to join us for a celebratory drink and a game of table football with some of the past and present players, see the sports section for some pictures from the event.
