VJ Day Celebrations
Despite an afternoon of weather being
better suited for ducks, the VJ Day
celebrations proceeded without a hitch
at the offices of Mayo Wynne Baxter and
Henry Adams in Storrington. Staff donning
1940s attire mingled with clients including
some ex-forces veterans. Music from
that era was provided by the superb Amy
Baker, though the show was stolen by
Wing Commander John Bell MBE who
shared many stories of his exploits during
World War Two as part of the crew on a
Lancaster Bomber. An amazing man, who
on leaving was overheard telling me to
“get a bloody haircut..!” Thank you sir…
for everything!
