everything just sort of all fell into place even though I wasn’t particularly looking for it at the time. I didn’t quite know what I was going to do. I thought probably I was going to go back into law but it just worked - in every way it proved to be the right sort of firm, the right sort of role and geographically it was perfect for me. Probably the main theme of my life since I have been in Lewes – or at least a massive part of it – has been the Southdown Club, which is the hockey, squash and tennis club. It’s a great family club and the friendliest and most sociable hockey club I’ve ever been involved with. I have friends there and they will be friends forever hopefully – although many of us no longer play quite so much competitive sport as we did. A lot of my friend’s children are now playing for the club – and that’s just wonderful. If ours wanted to play sport and they show aptitude I’d love them to do so at The Southdown Club.
