Keep your eyeliner in place with this simple trick. Apply some loose or pressed powder right under your eyeliner on the bottom lid close to the lashes. It will create a barrier and will stop your eyeliner from “travelling” down. hand to see if the temperature is ok and curl your lashes. The heat works the same way as your curling iron/tongs. 14 When choosing a foundation apply it from your jaw line down to your neck to get the right shade. Your face is exposed to the sun more than your neck therefore the colour is different. Match it to your neck otherwise it will look like you are wearing a mask. 8 Always wanted your lipstick to last for hours? Guess what, it is possible! Loose powder is your best friend! Fill in your lips with a lip liner. Take a lip brush and go over your lips to make sure it’s distributed well. Apply a thin layer of a lipstick using the same lip brush. Take a tissue, separate one layer and place it on your lips. Pick some loose or compact powder with a fluffy brush and go over your lips. Apply a second coat of lipstick and repeat the steps. The powder will absorb oil from the lipstick and will seal it in place. It will last for hours! 15 When applying mascara, hold a plastic tea spoon or even a business card behind your lashes and apply it in a back and forth motion starting at the roots. This way you won’t mess up your makeup and every lash will be coated perfectly! 9 Save your mascara wands as they can be quite handy. When you run out of a mascara, throw the tube but save the wand. Wash it and use as a brow comb, you could even apply any brow product with it. Spray it with hair spray and brush your brows to keep them in place. 10 Most of us have a little bit of facial hair. Some have shorter, some have longer. They are there to protect your skin but it might be very noticeable when you apply a foundation or powder. The trick here is to apply them downwards as your hair grows down. If you will apply upwards the hair will stick straight up and will be more noticeable. 11 Create an instant eye lift with this simple trick. Apply a light pink matte pencil across the entire length of your brow bone. It will create the illusion of a higher arch. Then blend it really well. It should not be visible. 12 Tinted moisturiser is great if you don’t want to use a foundation but still wish to hide some imperfections. Don’t have one? Make one. Take your favourite moisturizer and mix it with a drop of foundation or liquid concealer. Add more if desired. Your skin will look natural and imperfections will be covered. 13 Every makeup has an expiry date. Don’t keep things for ever, clear your makeup bag and get rid of some items. On the back of every product there is a little picture of a container with an open lid. The number with the letter M next to it indicates how many months until the product expires after opening. 16 I hope you found those tips useful and give some of them a go. Add a few in to your make up routine and you will see that they works! B y Asta Perkins astaperkins.co.uk 39
