August was pretty damp at Re: Towers with the huge amount of rain that fell. I’m glad to say that we have dried out now and have pulled together another packed issue for you. Our cover interview this issue is with David Courtney, the man behind Leo Sayer’s big hits. Liza caught up with him at Brighton’s Komedia ahead of the launch of his new album and book. He shares some great stories about the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle in the 60s and 70s and working with greats like Paul McCartney and Roger Daltrey. We’ve had lots of big events since last issue but the most fun has to have been our sponsorship of the Paddle Something Unusual event at this year’s Paddle Round the Pier. The MWB team put together a brilliant vessel which surprisingly stayed afloat and the Re: team put in many hours above the call of duty to make sure the event went smoothly. I even had to call in my brood to help out (see pic above). Our regular drinks writer and barman extraordinaire, Ben, has moved back to his native New Zealand but fortunately he has agreed to continue to write for us and in this issue he has covered the history of my favourite daytime tipple – coffee. Barker about poppies and their relevance as we approach Remembrance Sunday. Included in this issue are some really informative pieces from a number of our expert solicitors on areas of the law that we think will be both interesting and helpful but if there are any particular legal topics you would like covered in a future issue then please let me know. It’s been three years since our first issue and although a lot of work goes into each issue myself and the team have a lot of fun putting it together for you. You may get an email from us in the coming months as we would like to get your opinion on Re: Magazine so that we can make sure that we continue to produce something that you want to read. So if you do get an email from us then please do spare a few moments to complete the short survey. As always I really hope you enjoy this issue and I welcome any comments you may have so feel free to drop me a line at [email protected] or visit our Facebook page. MWB Partner, Simon Baillie-Hamilton, shares with us stories of his life and work on page 56; on page 62 Tia Clarke tells us about her recent trip to the beautiful city of Venice. We also have our usual features, some exceptional Sussex homes currently for sale and an informative article from Vivien Jason Edge Editor It’s always a bit manic in the Re: Magazine office around deadline and we occasionally miss the odd typo so if you spot one, do let me know. I hope that you enjoy this issue and as always I’d love to hear what you think of Re: Magazine so please drop me a line at [email protected] 1
