News Entrepreneurial initiative in the Gatwick Diamond Chairman on the board Our Chairman, Dean Orgill, features in the news again this issue as he has also been appointed as a non executive director for Crawley Town FC along with Crawley businessman Matt Turner from Creative Pod. Young Start-up Talent, an entrepreneurial initiative launched for a fourth year at Broadfield Stadium in July and once again our Chairman, Dean Orgill is to be one of the judges. Some 40 local business leaders, heads of local sixth forms, college and university representatives as well as the local MP Henry Smith met to celebrate the launch of Young Start-up Talent 2013/14. The project attracts 35 local and national sponsors whose aims are to encourage and inspire 1625 year olds to set up a business. The initiative carries a prize fund of £50,000 worth of products and services all donated by the judges and sponsors. Last year’s winner Sam French of Sam’s Kitchen spoke at the event of how far he has come in just four months since winning the prize fund and how it has helped him to push his business forward. Sam gave special thanks to the sponsors and judges that have helped him particularly to Dean Orgill who has provided invaluable legal expertise. Dean is also a committee member of the Institute of Directors Sussex, where he has responsibility for speaking on policy issues. Dean said: “This is an exciting time to be joining the club, which I hope to be able to help move on to the next exciting phase of its continued development.” MWB Conference The 9th of October will see a first in the firm’s history when all 200 staff come together for a conference at the Amex Stadium.
