From the Wine Château Lyonnat Do you have something you would like us to review? If so email [email protected] kitchen As the autumn nights start to draw in you can’t go too far wrong with this complex wine of Lussac Saint-Emilion AOC in the Bordeaux region. This blend of Merlot (85%), Cabernet Sauvignon (11%) and Cabernet Franc (4%) was created in 2008 by Brigitte & Gerard Milhade at their chateau set in 52 hectares. It is a full bodied, balanced wine that is deep purple in colour. The label suggests a lingering finish on notes of vanilla, leather and black cherries but there is also a pleasant tingle to the tip of the tongue with every slurp. I would recommend this with duck, lamb or even with good cheese but if you buy a few bottles you could lay a few down in the cellar as it has great ageing potential. We got ours from Hartleys who have 30 stores across the South East and it was priced at £16.99. Go on, treat yourself.
