RACHEL FOR CHAIR
OF YOUNG LABOUR
Young Labour should be a place where young activists come
together, make friends, develop their politics and campaign
on issues that matter to them. I'm standing for chair because
I love Young Labour, but I know that there is so much about
it that can be better. We need to build a stronger grassroots
movement, with better training and resources for our
members and we need to be more accessible, with more
affordable events.
From coordinating Young Labour and Labour Students
campaigning across Yorkshire during the general election, to
helping set up Young Labour groups from Harrow to
Southampton to Yorkshire, to bringing in a policy making
process for London Young Labour, to setting up a trade
union branch in my workplace, I have a strong record of
working with members across the Young Labour movement.
As chair I will ensure that Young Labour is a powerful voice within the
party and a strong campaigning force for the party.
During my campaign I have spoken to members across the country, whose thoughts and ideas have been
invaluable in putting together this manifesto, and I want to thank all of you.
" Rachel is one of the most hard working members out there; always ready to knock on
doors, but she's also one of the most welcoming and friendly members I've ever met. She'd
be an absolutely brilliant Young Labour chair - full of passion, energy and ideas."
- Meg Evans, Secretary of Islington North CLP
