Throughout the year, the College invested significantly in
establishing an infrastructure of engagement with local
authorities and secondary schools to improve schoolcollege pathways which are central to the success of
Developing the Young Workforce. Similarly, in relation to
employability and community provision, significant work
took place throughout 2014-15 to enhance engagement
with partners such as Skills Development Scotland and
the Department for Work and Pensions.
STRAT EGIC WHEEL
Our extensive engagement with employers, business
organisations and industry bodies continued through
the year, and our Making Your Business Our Business
approach was shortlisted in the Ayrshire Chamber of
Commerce’s customer service award.
In August 2014, we embedded the key priorities of our
three community planning partnerships and employers
into our three-year strategic plan and outcome
agreement. Our focus on growing the economy and skills,
tackling inequalities and building community capacity
mirrored the goals of increasing competitiveness and
tackling inequality in Scotland’s Economic Strategy
published by the Scottish Government in March 2015.
Throughout the year, these integrated goals and
objectives drove our activity and were underpinned by
our enhanced quality cycle which reinforced Education
Scotland’s quality framework.
This report illustrates the progress we have made
in meeting the objectives of our Strategic Plan and
Outcome Agreement. It captures key points on student
progress, high quality teaching and support for learning
from a comprehensive quality review we undertook in
May 2015 of all our curriculum areas in partnership with
Education Scotland and the Scottish Funding Council.
