It has been one year since Golf Queensland launched the Qld Golf Foundation . The Foundation strives to give back to the game of golf in Queensland by investing in our future golfers and growing the game .
The Foundation has three focus areas which are Juniors , Ladies and Clubs . The money raised by the Foundation goes back into these areas through more learn to play programs for Juniors and Ladies and provides support tools for Clubs who may be facing operational and financial difficulties .
I am pleased to report that the Foundation has had a successful first year of operation and the funds raised last year will support the implementation of My Golf camps in key regional areas in 2017 . This achieves the objectives the Foundation has set itself in its first year – to get more young people playing golf , in particular those who may not have had access to the game before .
We would like to thank those who have generously supported the Foundation in its endeavours in the past year .
However , we can all do more . The Queensland Golf Foundation needs the help and support of all in the golf industry to make a difference . The Foundation ’ s aim – getting more people playing more golf – benefits all of us by building a stronger golf community in Queensland .
Districts , clubs and individual golfers can help the Foundation by participating in its activities – whether that be holding a raffle at your club or through the District , ladies participating in the Qld Golf Foundation Brooch or simply liking the Qld Golf Foundation Facebook page to help us raise awareness . Every little bit helps , because it is only together that we can build a stronger golfing community in Queensland .
