Prolight + Sound 2017 to Offer Extensive Education Program
From April 4-7 , 2017 , Prolight + Sound will offer an extensive program of lectures covering all facets of the event industry . Aimed at both newcomers and industry experts , the lectures will be held in the Forum building of the Exhibition Centre in Franfurt , Germany .
As in previous years , the program is split into three parts : the Prolight + Sound Conference ; the Manufacturers ’ Forum ; and the Eventplaza Conference . Numerous lectures will be given in English and are aimed at an international audience .
In the more than 30 seminars of the Prolight + Sound Conference , which are split into basic and advanced streams , participants can learn about subjects such as technology , training , law , business , and aesthetics in the event technology sector . Among the subjects covered in the advanced conference block will be : “ Myths About Truss & Rigging ” and “ Compliance : Its Role in the Entertainment Technology Industry .” The lectures in the basic conference block include “ Let There Be Light – Basics of Lighting Technology ” and “ Media Servers and Video Mapping .”

Educational Schedule Released for Expo-Scène 2017
CITT / ICTS is preparing to welcome more than 60 exhibitors and over 1,200 visitors to Montreal for the third annual Expo-Scène trade show and conference , which is returning to the Palais des congrès de Montréal from April 12-13 , 2017 . Expo-Scène is currently the only major Canadian event dedicated to professionals in the pro audio , lighting , audiovisual , video , and multimedia technology markets .
For this year , educational seminars in French and English are scheduled for the afternoons of both days of the show , spread across four studio spaces . Some of the scheduled presentation topics include video over IP , video mapping in interactive spaces , future skills for technicians , LED characteristics , and an introduction to theatrical special effects .

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers ( SMPTE ) is seeking proposals for technical papers for the SMPTE 2017 Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition , which will be held from Oct . 23-26 , 2017 , in Hollywood , CA . Proposed papers must be informational and address technical theory , research , innovations , applications , or practices specific to an evolving technology relevant to the media industry . Abstracts must be submitted online no later than May 15 , 2017 .
