Cast wysiwyg R38 Lighting Design Software
Cast Software has released version R38 of its wysiwyg lighting design tool .
In the new version , extruded arcs and splines now create a curved surface , which can be textured by applying a single image or video source to it . Transparency in textures will help create nice effects and increase performance efficiency , as now it is possible to texture a complex shape to a flat surface instead of drawing the shape in CAD . Volumetric laser beams have been updated in wysiwyg R38 and are now brighter than before , and much faster performing in LIVE mode .
Users can mirror truss structures and a new Truss Manager window enables users to manage trusses and their properties from one centralized place . Creating LED walls and screens is easier with updates to the Quick Video / Image tool that now can auto patch image and video subsources to each individual screen or LED panel . The new import option takes fixture information listed in a spreadsheet file ( CSV , XLS , XLSX ) exported from other software and / or lighting consoles , and offers a new import process to help users insert fixtures into their drawing easily . The Import Floorplan feature has been extended to more views and now supports the import of an image or PDF in each of the three view directions .

Mega-Lite Axis XTRA 17R Moving Head
Mega-Lite has expanded the Axis range with the release of the Axis XTRA 17R moving head .
Housing a 350 W 17R lamp , the fixture has a strong output for long throw . The unit is equipped with 14 fixed gobos plus open , nine rotating gobos , and 14 colours plus open . Additional effects include a 16-facet rotating prism in both directions , electronic focus , a frost filter , and a simple-tonavigate touch screen LCD display .
With a zoom range from a thin 3.8 degrees to a fat 45 degrees that includes an electronic focus , the light can move from a beam to a hard edge spot fixture quickly . There is also a 270-degree tilt .
