The rate at which new technologies are introduced to professionals in the lighting and visuals market is truly astounding ; the rate at which those same technologies are widely adopted across the industry – if at all – is a lot tougher to predict .
To kick off 2017 , we ’ ve rounded up a panel of Canadian concert lighting designers with a diverse array of backgrounds , experience , and approaches to get feedback from the front lines of the industry . We asked about how these incoming technologies and larger general trends are affecting their work and , more generally , the industry around them .
The general consensus seems to be that there ’ s still plenty of potential in the LED market , that detailed pre-visualization solutions are making for much more effective discussions with clients , and that overall , opportunities abound for those looking to enter this industry so long as they have the right attitude and work ethic .
