NAB Gearing Up for 2017 Show
The NAB Show will be returning to Las Vegas from April 22-27 , 2017 . It is the world ’ s largest electronic media show covering the creation , management , and delivery of content across all platforms . The theme for this year ’ s show is The M . E . T . Effect , meaning the intersection of media , entertainment , and technology , fueled by internet connectivity and integrated systems .
Exhibitors will represent all AV-related industries , including broadcast , digital media , film , entertainment , telecom , post-production , education , houses of worship , advertising , military / government , retail , security , sports , IT , and more .
A wide spectrum of educational seminars , presentations , and programs is planned , including Live Events and The M . E . T . Effect , which will host directors , lighting and audio technicians , stage managers , videographers , systems integrators , and more discussing their delivery of immersive experiences . Conference topics will include the Business of Broadcast , Content Strategies : The Future of Entertainment , Sports Media and Entertainment , Future of Cinema , and more .

USITT 2017 Brings Theatre Tech Industry to St . Louis
USITT held the 57 th edition of its annual conference and stage expo in St . Louis , MO from March 8-11 , 2017 . Though final attendance and exhibitor numbers were not yet available at press time , USITT ’ s preliminary estimates are that around 5,000 attendees navigated the trade show floor ’ s 300-plus exhibits and took in some of the 200 conference sessions .
The sessions , which were split across 13 education tracks , covered all areas of the theatre industry and related technologies . The Light Lab provided an interactive experience where both students and lighting professionals learned about the most recent state-of-the-art lighting equipment . Light Lab sessions covered such topics as dance lighting , holographic projection on stage , and reading focus charts .
Additionally , the Stage Expo featured 300 exhibitors spread across the trade floor in the America ’ s Center convention complex . The console demo area allowed attendees to have dedicated time to learn from the lighting , audio , and video equipment manufacturers themselves .
