Awards hopeful of success in two categories - with VEKA

TRIO OF AWARD
SHORTLISTINGS
Glassolutions, the manufacturer, processor, distributor,
installer and repairer of
glass, is celebrating after being shortlisted for three G16
Awards, the annual ‘glazing
industry Oscars.’
The company’s new online service MyGlassolutions has reached
the finals in two categories – Customer Care Initiative of the Year
and Promotional Campaign of the
Year – reflecting its original concept and Glassolutions’ investment
in launching the service into the
market.
MyGlassolutions enables anyone
in the window and door trade,
and building industry as a whole,
to order a wide variety of glass
through their mobiles, tablets or
laptops 24/7. Attracting strong
interest amongst a diverse range
of trades, from sealed unit makers
and glazing installers to bathroom
fitters and furniture makers, MyGlassolutions has proved a hit with
its product range, online configuration, ordering, payment and
tracking functionality supported
by Glassolutions national branch
network for easy collection and
delivery capability.
Glassolutions’ third shortlisting in
the Commercial Project of the Year
category illustrates the breadth of
high quality services the company
provides. It was named as a finalist
for its delivery of curtain walling,
windows and doors for a new
office building for insurance giant
Hiscox in York. This new customer
experience centre, itself an award
winner, is Hiscox’s largest office
outside of London and features
a stunning curved façade created
using Glassolutions’ exclusive VS-1
curtain walling system.
Adam Taylor, marketing manager at Glassolutions said: “We’re
delighted to have been named as a
finalist for three G16 awards – it’s a
testament to the hard work of our
teams right across the business. It
is pleasing to receive recognition
for two recently launched yet very
different solutions in MyGlassolutions and VS-1, both illustrating our
dedication to
staying at the forefront of the
industry in terms of innovation
and our appetite to continuously
improve established ways of doing
things.
“Once again the G-Awards shortlists showcase the excellent work
that’s going across all areas of the
UK’s door and window industry.
I’d like to wish all the 2016 finalists the very best of luck on the
night.”
Glassolutions hopes to repeat its
success of previous years at the
G-Awards, having most recently
won awards in 2014 for Environmental Initiative of the Year and
Glass Company of the Year Award
in 2012.
This year’s winners will be
announced at the prestigious G16
Awards Presentation and Gala
Dinner which takes place on 18th
November at the London Hilton on
Park Lane.

The annual awards recognise excellence in the glass
and glazing industry across
12 hotly contested fields.
This year sees The VEKA
UK Group’s ‘#JustTheFACTS’
nominated for Promotional
Campaign of the Year (trade),
with ‘Networkmanship’ –
Network VEKA’s recent consumer marketing campaign
– named as a finalist for the
equivalent retail award.
Dave Jones, MD of The VEKA
UK Group commented: “We’re
immensely proud of the efforts
of our marketing team and the
agencies that support them. These
campaigns represent some of the
strongest marketing communica-
tions The VEKA UK Group has
ever had, and for that to be recognised in both trade and consumer
markets is a great affirmation for
us.
“Regardless of what happens
on the night, both campaigns are
winners for me. They get right to
the heart of what we offer, which
– in my eyes – remains unrivalled
throughout the industry.”
‘#JustTheFACTS’ aimed to sidestep the subjective approach taken
by some competitors’ campaigns,
highlighting demonstrable statistics from around the group that
‘spoke for themselves’, without
embellishment or exaggeration.
‘Networkmanship’ emphasises
the ways in which Network VEKA
members challenge traditional
stereotypes of home improvement
contractors, taking meticulous care
over their work and cleaning up
after themselves, for example.
Two VEKA fabricators and
installers have been named as
finalists too.
Masterframe – the Essex-based
sash window specialist – is
nominated in the Unsung Hero
category for the work of sales and
marketing director, Carol Slade.
She is joined in the same category by Eilidh Haggart, PA to the
directors/HR contact at Thistle
Windows & Conservatories.
Eilidh’s nomination is one of
three f or the Aberdeen-based
installation company, including
Installer of the Year, and, for the
fourth consecutive time, Conservatory Installer of the Year, a title
it hopes to retain after its success
in 2015.
The winners of the G16 Awards
will be announced on 18th November at an awards presentation
and gala dinner at London’s Park
Lane Hilton, with a celebrity host
to be announced.
