Construction businesses building smaller savings pots

Small and medium sized enterprises ( SMEs ) within the construction and building sector come bottom when it comes to the amount of money held in business savings accounts , with the average balance standing at £ 319,000 , according to research from specialist challenger bank Hampshire Trust Bank . Accountancy SMEs , which hold an average of just over £ 1 million in savings (£ 1,085,000 ), are the biggest business savers . The creation of the lantern has allowed the company to demonstrate that it is not only a manufacturer and supplier , but also a product design innovator . Originally starting out as a local conservatory roof trade supplier , Made For Trade has grown in recent years after expanding its services nationwide and adding the best-selling Visofold 1000 bi-folding door to its range . Now operating over three sites in Stockton-on-Tees and employing over 80 members of staff , the company has recently moved into new premises housing the head office as well as production for the Korniche lantern roof .

AWARDS SHOW UPTURN IN OFFSITE CONSTRUCTION

More than 200 leaders and innovators gathered to celebrate offsite construction at the 2016 Offsite Awards at the NEC , Birmingham , and were presented on the main stage at UK Construction Week . It is great to see the sector growing so rapidly and to witness so many boundaries being surpassed by these inspiring projects . The depth of expertise across all categories was impressive and the exceptional number of entries is proof of how offsite construction is not just for one off niche developments . The entries clearly demonstrate the upturn in the industry .” The Offsite Awards celebrated outstanding examples of prefabrication and factory-based methods , products , systems and disciplines that increasingly strive to develop a sustainable , streamlined and cost-effective way to deliver a better built environment . Award , which is awarded for the highest scoring entry across all categories , was presented at the ceremony on 18th October to B & K Structures and Engenuiti for their project at the University of Essex . The Essex Business School is an innovative educational facility which , through the use of timber and offsite manufacture , significantly contributed to it becoming the UK ’ s first zero-carbon business school and achieving its aim of a BREEAM Excellent rating .
