Rise in number of jobs
Bradford-based recruitment specialist, Frontline,
is hailing a significant rise in the number of jobs
being created in the building and construction
industry as a sign the economy is strengthening.
One in ten of Frontline’s
new clients are now
from the building and
construction industry, a
figure that is continuing
to climb.
The encouraging figures
are backed up by the latest
research into the construction sector from the Office
of National Statistics (ONS),
which claimed that output
rose by 4 per cent in August
2013 compared to same
month last year.
Tony Wilmot, director of
Frontline Recruitment, said:
“The industry was badly
affected by the recession, so
to see such a positive result
in the number of companies
looking to increase their
staff numbers within the
sector is very good news
indeed. It’s a positive indicator that the economy is
stabilising and rebuilding.”

the main contributor to the
growth in output, having

Tony added: “It’s a great
sign that new builds are
becoming profitable and in
demand once more.”

I am looking
for a career!
Can you help?
I have experience of working in the
UK door hardware manufacturing
industry.
My most recent position was working for
an international manufacturer in London, as
UK Project Coordinator. This required extensive interaction with the London team, as
well as with the purchasing department in
Beijing, and external customers in the UK.
One of my major responsibilities was
arranging for the testing of our product and
communicating the results to e xternal customers as well as the company as a whole;
this commonly took the form of progress
reports and oral presentations.
This experience demonstrates my excellent
communication skills enabling me to liaise
with both the business team and the technical team, bringing them together to achieve
the organisation’s goals. I also have a very
solid knowledge of products (especially
Sara Wang
locks and handles), British standards, European standards and the testing process.
I have completed an MSc in Occupational
Psychology (Distinction for my dissertation
on personality at work). Technically, I have
been awarded a locksmith certificate by a
well-respected lock expert who teaches at
MLA. Hence I can pick and bump cylinders
and cut keys.
