SOLIDOR’S
SPONSORSHIP
ON WHEELS
Composite door pioneer, Solidor,
is now taking its branding to the
road and track, thanks to the
launch of BH-Solidor-WAM Youth, a
Pro/Elite bike team based in the
Cotswolds.
With bicycles supplied by the Spanish BH
brand and many other sponsors, the team,
run and owned by Iain McInnes of McInnes
Communications Ltd, along with three
support staff and a team of 13 riders, is
already building an impressive reputation in
the UK peloton.
As well as riding the Elite series in the UK,
the highest domestic racing standard, the
team will also ride the Tour of Malta and
the Ras Mumhan, Ireland.
They have also been offered a guest spot
at the Tour Series, to be televised on ITV 4
during May and June. Great exposure for
Solidor whose MD, Gareth Mobley said: “It’s
great to be involved in sponsoring a team
and as I’m a passionate cyclist as is our PR
man Iain McInnes. I’m particularly looking
forward to seeing the team race round the
streets of Stoke in May, just a few miles
from the factory.’

This is being asked by
The Fuelcard People, a
Fuel Card Group company. Steve Clarke, group
marketing manager,
said: “If you pay 4p per
litre less for diesel, you
save £300 on 7,500
litres, which explains
why pump price fuel
cards are falling out of
favour. Van users enjoy
having to answer the
£300 question.”
Steve has seen a sudden
increase in enquiries about
The Fuelcard People’s
commercial rate fuel cards,
which offer significant
discounts on every major
brand. He suggests that this
was almost inevitable, in
the wake of recent activity
by a pump price fuel card
supplier. “After years of
trying to talk down the obvious benefits of fixed price
fuel cards, the market has
made them accept reality,”
he said. “Now, they admit,
‘If you can’t beat them,
join them,’ by launching
their own version of a dis-
count fuel card. They even
suggest that their existing
pump price customers
should carry both cards – it
proves that our approach to
cutting van fuel costs was
right all along.”
