FOOTY CHALLENGE
FOR TRADESPEOPLE
As part of the nation’s football fever, Screwfix has
been providing tradespeople
through June with the chance
to participate in some footy
fun with its ‘Back of the Van’
2016 football challenge.
At selected Screwfix stores across
the UK, tradespeople have been
enjoying the chance to be rewarded for their footy skills whilst
stocking up on trade essentials for
work.
Plumbers, electricians, carpenters,
builders and many more tradesmen
and women were invited to their
local stores to take part by compet-
ing head-to-head to see who can
get the most footballs into the back
of a van in just 30 seconds.
Those who took up the challenge
are being entered into the ‘Back of
the Van’ national prize draw, sponsored by DeWalt, and are in with
the chance to win the ‘Ultimate
Viewing Experience’ prize worth
£5,000, to make watching games
truly memorable.
Those who joined in the antics
at the Screwfix stores received a
free gift from Screwfix and DeWalt,
and the highest scoring contestant
at each store gets a DeWalt combi
drill.
John Mewett, marketing director
at Screwfix commented: “We know
many of our trade customers have
a love of the national game, so we
wanted to offer a bit of fun, when
they’re popping by to stock up.”
The final ‘Back of the Van’ store
sessions are on June 29 and June
30. On June 29 sessions are at the
Peterborough store, Units 6-7, St
David’s Square, Fenn Gate, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE1 5QA,
and at the Northampton store, Unit
4, Gladstone Close, Northampton,
Northamptonshire, NN5 7AY.
On June 30, there will be sessions
at Bury St Edmunds, Unit 16,
Bunting Road, Bury St Edmunds,
Suffolk, IP32 7BX, and at Basildon,
Unit 22, 23 Yardley Business Park,
Luckyn Lane, Basildon, Essex, SS14
3GL.
For those who cannot make it to
store there is a chance to take part
and win online at facebook.com/
Screwfix. The ‘Back of the Van’
scratch card game is available on
Facebook. Players simply need
to match two symbols to win and
claim the prize. Partnered with
DeWalt, winners could be walking
away with a trade essential – either
a top of the range DeWalt Power
Tool bundle worth £600, a DeWalt combi drill, 10 per cent off at
Screwfix or builder’s gloves.

TUFFX CUSTOMERS
EMBRACE AMBI FUSION
One of TuffX’ Processed Glass installation companies has
supplied and installed
its first Ambi Fusion
Solid Glass roof to
replace an existing
polycarbonate conservatory roof.
TuffX said the installer
loved the innovation of the
Ambi Fusion Solid product
which allows great flexi-
bility in the design choice
compared to other tiled roof
systems on the market. The
idea of this product being
able to be glazed into any
standard roof system which
is quick and easy to install
is the appeal, without the
extra tradesmen and costs
passed onto the homeowner.
Ambi Fusion glass comes
as standard with self-clean-
ing properties, excellent
thermal insulation of 1.1 u
value, a solar heat reflection
of 78% and light transmission of 7%.
The homeowner was looking to replace a polycarbonate roof and had looked
into alternative solid roof
systems on the market but
chose Ambi Fusion because
of the benefits offered. They
found the idea of being able
to place the Fusion white
and glass combinations into
the problematic areas was
the appeal to allow light to
flood the room.
TuffX MD Graham Price
said: “It’s great to see our
customers embracing our
new products allowing them
to be different from other
competitors in the market.”
NIA focuses on
new build and
commercial
www.tuffxglass.co.uk
A great deal of media
attention and policy
development in the
insulation sector is
focused on retrofitting
existing domestic buildings. However, there is
tremendous untapped
potential for insulation
in the new build, SME
and commercial markets.
The National Insulation
Association (NIA) has identified a gap in the market
and the need for an industry
body to educate specifiers
and building owners in
these sectors on the benefits of insulation and the
solutions available. It should
also make recommendations
to government and other
key stakeholders on new
policies to stimulate activity
in these particular sectors.
Therefore, the NIA is
announcing the formation
of a dedicated new working
group within the association, which will comprise
of industry experts in these
market sectors to take this
work forward.
Organisations interested
in NIA Membership
should contact Bev
Hodson at the NIA bev.
