New ‘No
Contract’
Chip &
PIN deal
Acceptacard Ltd (trading as Payatrader.com) has announced plans
to shake up the out-dated practice
of locking businesses into lengthy
contracts for industry standard Chip
& PIN terminals.
Unveiling two new ‘no contract’ terminal
deals, Bill Thomson, MD at Acceptacard,
commented, “We are committed to delivering value for our customers and have
developed a model that rewards loyalty and
encourages customers to stay with us by
choice.
The new terminals include a Countertop
and GPRS portable model, contactless enabled and with built-in thermal printers.
Priced from only £2.50 per week with no
contract. Visit www.payatrader.com for
more information or call 0333 123 1243

Grow your
business
For small businesses, the decision on whether or not to accept card
payments is an important one. It can affect everything from the dayto-day running of your business to the profit generated.
Accepting cards can make your
business appear more professional,
giving potential customers more
confidence when deciding whether
to purchase from you and, if your
competitors are solely using cash
and cheque payment methods, could

Pay As You Go • No Monthly Fees • No Contract • Rates From 2.3%
Reader costs £79+VAT. This will be credited to your
Payatrader account after your terminal order has been placed.
As well as making it easier for customers,
accepting card payments means that you
won’t have to keep so much cash on site or
have to deposit large amounts at the bank.
Card Readers
These are low cost, mobile chip and PIN
devices that connect to your smartphone
or tablet via Bluetooth, managed through
a free app. Typically, you buy the device
outright and pay a single processing rate.
Most accounts are free to set-up, but only
offer the one payment method. If you need
online or telephone payments too, Payatrader.com has a full multi-channel service for a
small set up fee.
Industry Standard Chip & PIN
While card readers are popular with businesses that are new to cards or that only
accept small volumes of card payments,
many still prefer to use a ‘proper’ terminal
with a built in printer and providing a more
familiar experience to customers. However,
many businesses are put-off by high monthly charges (£20-£35), minimum usage fees
and contracts that lock you in for 3-5 years.
Again, Payatrader.com is leading the way
with its recent ‘No Contract’ announcement
on two popular terminals manufactured by
Spire.
Online & Telephone Payments
Depending on how you run your business,
online and telephone facilities can be a
useful addition to Chip & PIN, or used as
a standalone service. Many businesses take
payments over the phone at the time of
booking a job, before attending a call-out
or for payment of posted invoices. Online
payments are ideal if you have your own
website or if you send electronic invoices,
where you can embed a payment link, saving time and postal charges.
