New ‘man in van’
breakdown cover
Breakdown cover firm RecoverMe
has announced a partnership
with Jewson, the UK’s leading
supplier of sustainable timber
and building materials.
RecoverMe has partnered with Jewson to
provide its customers with exclusive
benefits. As part of
the Juice by Jewson
rewards programme,
RecoverMe will offer
a range of benefits to
Juice members, including discounted breakdown cover.
‘Juice by Jewson’, one
of the first loyalty card
programmes in the construction industry, allows
customers to collect points
with every purchase. The
new programme gives
customers one point for
every £1 spent and can be
redeemed on a variety of
rewards from key business
benefits, to the latest tech
gadgets, and once in a lifetime experiences.
The Juice by Jewson reward programme will also
offer customers the chance
to earn extra points on
specially selected product
purchases as well as a host
of immediate benefits just
for being a member.
Dependent on the level of
spend, RecoverMe will offer
increasing discounts, starting at £5 off its breakdown
policies. Those customers
who achieve a Platinum
level membership with
Jewson will receive RecoverMe’s most comprehensive
breakdown policy free of
charge, Get You Home –
which covers Home Start,
mechanical and electrical
breakdown, mis-fuelling
cover and recovery to your
destination within the UK
– and free specialist legal
advice from RecoverMe’s
legal partner, RM Law.
RecoverMe has designed
a special ‘man in a van’
breakdown cover for the
Jewson trade customer.
This cover is available exclusively through the Juice
by Jewson programme.
‘RecoverMe
offers access
to 800 recovery
agents’
PUT YOUR CALL ON
HOLD TO DRIVERS
If you know your loved one or colleague is driving, don’t pick up
the phone – that’s the plea from family safety charity RoSPA.
RecoverMe offers access
to 800 recovery agents –
the largest managed breakdown recovery network in
the UK – and promises to
recover drivers from anywhere in the UK, 24 hours
a day and 365 days a year,
with no driver ever left
stranded.
The message came as
RoSPA supported the
National Police Chiefs’
Council (NPCC) mobile
Enforcement Campaign. RoSPA urged
people to wait until
a driver has finished
their journey before
contacting them by
phone call or text.

Drivers using their phone,
whether handheld or handsfree, are four times more
likely to crash, potentially
injuring or killing themselves or other people.
Nick Lloyd, RoSPA’s
road safety manager, said:
“Imagine you are travelling
at 40mph in a residential
area, the phone rings and
you pick it up and have
a quick look – in the two
seconds it’s taken, you will
have travelled for around
40 metres, completely
blind.
“Hit a pedestrian at that
speed and they will suffer
life-changing injuries or
worse – and you will live
with the consequences for
the rest of your life.”
Drivers who use their
phone:
• are much less aware of
what’s happening on the
road around them
• fail to see road signs
• fail to maintain proper lane
position and steady speed
• are more likely to tailgate
the vehicle in front
• react more slowly, take
longer to brake and longer
to stop
• are more likely to enter
unsafe gaps in traffic
• feel more stressed and
frustrated.
‘you will live
with the
consequences
for the rest
of your life’
