Synseal’s
Brand New
Celsius
Solid Roof
Synseal’s recently launched
Celsius Solid Roof is a new and
innovative system that employs a structural framework of
timber components with environmentally-friendly Envirotile
external roof tiles and cappings
to create a truly warm solid
roof construction. At the heart
of the system are thermally-efficient structural insulated
panels (SIPs) from Kingspan
TEK Building Systems which are
lined with a waterproof breather membrane prior to fitting the
ventilated Synseal Envirotile
external roofing components.
Optional roof windows from
VELUX are also available.
It’s easy to install too as one of
the first people to install it, Ray
Bjelic of Barclay Developments
Ltd testifies: “We had looked at
several other solid roofs before
but none of them were quite
right for us, so we were pleased
to see Synseal entering this
market. As usual with Synseal
the product was easy to install;
we fitted a larger than normal
roof in just 2 days and already
have our next orders lined up.”

sections by 100mm.
F.
Fitting Eaves Tile Bar – Once
the starter soaker and breather
membrane has been fitted,
fix lower tile bar section over,
locating up against edge of
panel. Fix using 40mm screws at
approximately 250mm centres
and leave 10mm drainage gaps
between tile bar sections.
I. Ridge Caps – Place
Tie Wires – Two
solutions are available
(suitable for fitting with
or without an internal
pelmet). Drill pilot holes at
appropriate locations for
the tie wire bracket. Ensure
the holes fall either side of
a panel joint. Fix bracket
then fit wire into brackets.
D.
Fixing Roof Panel to Eaves Infill
Timber – After inserting Georgian
hip rafter into position and fixing
panels, insert eaves infill timber into
position.
G.
Tiling – Working in a clockwise
direction around the roof, fit first tile
onto the bar and push up to wall end,
leaving a gap of 40mm from wall.
Start next row with cut down double
tile and tile along the row as before.
H.
Hip Caps – Join each hip end
cap to a section of hip cap and run
20mmx25mm expanding foam along
the underside of each edge. Fix in
place using 140mm screws.
