complete with brand
new machinery,
is opened by the
founder of VEKA AG,
Mr Heinrich Laumann.
Ron Bean and
Terry Morrell retire,
handing over the
day-to-day running
of the business to
David Ruzicka and
Terry’s son, Stephen
Morrell, who remains
Managing Director of
Sash UK to this day.

Sash UK marks its 40th
anniversary with a huge
Medieval-style celebration
for 800 guests dressed
in medieval costume,
comprising of staff, their
families and suppliers, in the
grounds of Burntwood Court
Hotel, Brierley, Barnsley.
The event, which included a
medieval village, traditional
cuisine such as wild boar,
honey mead and a jousting
competition, captures the
attention of the local media.

Fitrite Fencing and Decking products begin to be
manufactured in the UK and is established as a
company in its own right.

Sash UK receives a Royal visit
from HRH Prince Andrew, The
Duke of York as part of his work
supporting local regeneration.
Further investment is made to
begin manufacturing products
using the Spectus profile system,
in addition to Veka. In this year,
Sash also began manufacturing
products using Spectus profile.
