59 PRO INSTALLER FEBRUARY 2016 PRO BUSINESS @proinstaller1 USING ACCESS TO DRIVER DATA (ADD) Employers/businesses needing to check driver records want this information instantly. So, earlier this year the Access to Driver Data (ADD) service went live and was offered to organisations. Users of the Electronic Driver Entitlement Checking Service (EDECS) asked for data in real time so this was provided. ADD also offers: Supporting and maintaining this new service is significantly cheaper than running EDECS - so, from April 1 2016 the cost charged will be reduced, per enquiry, by 40%. The charges for this service will be reviewed again next year. The service costs approximately £20,000 and covers all deployment and installation costs. There is also an annual line rental cost of approximately £6,000 per annum – the initial cost (approximately £20,000) includes the first year’s line rental. This supports goals to increase efficiency and cut fees whenever possible and, to be simpler, better, and safer. ADD replaces the EDECS service in March 2016. EDECS users who still want Real time driving licence data 24 hours a day, seven days a week; responses to single requests giving accurate driver data immediately (with EDECS it can sometimes take up to 12 hours); more driver records available to view; simplified responses – if no driver information is available a message will be sent to say the driver licence number has not been found or that the enquiry is not available; all the driving licence details - just as they are in EDECS. Clutch of awards follows investment Wellingborough based trade fabricator Emplas continues celebrations after picking up a flurry of key awards. So it was only fitting that Wolfgang Gorner from the company’s primary supplier Profile 22 should drop in with a bottle of cheer. Emplas won the much coveted Fabricator of the Year trophy at the G15 Awards, and was also listed as one of the UK’s top manufacturing leaders by a specialist magazine in the same month. Emplas MD Ryan Johnson said: “We wanted the G15 trophy badly and were delighted to win it. We have made many advances within the business and this was the perfect way to celebrate the hard work and commitment that these have involved for a great team of people. “The Manufacturer Top 100 Listing is meaningful for the recognition of our business as a leading manufacturer per se and says a great deal of how the window, door and conservatory industry is being taken seriously these days.” The G15 award follows the launch of the Emplas Installer Partnership last year, with growth and investment in its Northamptonshire manufacturing facility. Wolfgang Gorner said: “We have worked closely with Emplas over many years through a great partnership and so we are delighted that Emplas was recognised with these important awards.” access to driver data need to sta 'BW6
