48 FEBRUARY 2014 PRO INSTALLER Speaking Out About Sustainability Ecobuild returns this year for it’s 10th anniversary show and the event’s conference programme will include insights from former Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone as well as a range of other government officials set to share their opinions on the newest green initiatives. Ken Livingstone, who served two terms as the Mayor of London, will be taking to the stage to participate in ‘The Ecobuild De- ‘Do we have a blueprint for the resilient city of the future?’ bate: do we have a blueprint for the resilient city of the future?’. The session takes place on the 6th of March, 13.30 – 14.30 and will discuss the responses to The Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities Challenge, for which the shortlisted cities were recently announced, as well as other plans for future resilience including The Mayoral Vision for London 2020 and PlaNYC 2030. The highlight of the Saint-Gobain stand will be the seminar theatre, which will play host to a series of topical seminars, designed to address key issues facing the industry today. The hourly seminar sessions will be led by industry bodies including the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), Zero Carbon Hub (ZCH) and the Passivhaus Trust. Taking place in the Ecobuild Arena on the 4th of March the session will explore whether or not a democratically elected UK government will ever introduce the tougher measures to ensure the 2050 carbon reduction target gets hit. The conferences are free to attend. ‘whether or not a democratically elected UK government will ever introduce the tougher measures to ensure the 2050 carbon reduction target gets hit’ Ecobuild to host 2014 Climate Week Launch Ecobuild and the organisers of Climate Week have announced that the official launch of this year’s Climate Week will be held on site at Ecobuild Climate Week 2014 will run from the 3rd to the 9th of March with the official launch taking place at in The North Arena at Ecobuild on Tuesday 4th at 1.30pm. The campaign is endorsed by politicians and celebrities including The Rt Hon David Cameron, Sir Paul McCartney, footballer Gary Neville and the Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change, Lord Deben. The national launch will kick off a programme of over 3,000 events designed to raise awareness of the dangers of climate change and suggest solutions.
