Tips and trends for tiles

So what are their tips when it comes to choosing and fitting tiles ? Gary said : “ Preparation is everything . Make sure that you do your homework as to everything that is needed both in materials and in works to be done . It will not only save you time , but also money . For example , many floors are not flat , or even and will need that preparation . Time spent levelling that floor , preparing it for tiling will be worth every minute and every penny .” “ Have you considered where your cuts will be ? Will it leave awkward cuts , or unsightly grout lines ? What size grout lines will you have ? ( narrower minimalist joints are becoming more popular on most projects ). “ Do you have the spacers for that joint ? Is the grout colour being used complementary , or a contrast ? For floors , we would recommend those mid tones where possible , which are much easier to maintain . The exception to this would be if you are installing wood effect tiles , a darker grout line can mimic the shadow between real wooden planks . Don ’ t forget when installing those wooden effect tiles to lay them staggered for that authentic look .” Inspired by the popularity of their concept store Gary and Alan are looking to expand their range in 2017 to include other wall coverings such as designer papers .
