Hosted by comedian Kevin Bridges, the G-Awards is one of the most prestigious events in the Fenestration industry calendar and was attended by over 500 industry figures. The evening saw winners presented awards in 13 different categories, including a special award presented to an individual who has shown industry excellence. Commercial Project of the Year Presented by Julian McSlade, CEO, Livin Roof by Ultraframe New Product of the Year Presented by Steve Severs, Managing Director, Saint- Gobain Installer of the Year Presented by Darren Waters, COE, Grouphomesafe Winner: Pilkington UK received by Phil Savage, Commercial Contracts Sales Manager, for the Stonehenge Visitors Centre Winner: Ultraframe (UK) for LivinROOF received by Steve Mackintyre, Marketing Director Winner: Glass Solutions received by Michael Butterick, Marketing Director, SaintGobain for Salford Energy House Winner: Eclectic Systems received by Dan Gill, Owner, for ‘Your Resident 9’ Dan commented: “I want to thank all the fabricators and their customers for allowing Eclectic Systems use their customers installation sites and film the installation of our products, which helped us achieve this prestigious award.” Winner: The Window Company (Contracts) received by David Falkner, Owner The winners were as follows; Promotional Campaign of the Year – Retail Presented by Peter Apel, International Sales and Marketing Manager, Swisspacer Training and Development Initiative of the Year Presented by Michael Butterick, Marketing Director, Glass Solutions. Winner: Quickslide received by Adrian Barroclough, COE, for In-house Training and Development Programme Adrian commented: “Quickslide invest in tomorrow and plan for the future. Every one of our employees signed the entry form to enter the nomination, and we are thrilled to be here receiving it on their behalf, proving we will carry on our training strategy.” Environmental Initiative of the Year Presented by Andy Jones, Managing Director, Edgetech Promotional Campaign of the Year – Trade Presented by Richard Gyde, Managing Director, Mila Hardware Winner: Raynaers for Raynaers at Home received by Justin Hunter, Managing Director Customer Care Initiative of the Year Presented by Mark Hickcox, Sales Director, Thermoseal Group Winner: Emplas Window Systems received by Ryan Johnson, Managing Director Conservatory Installer of the Year Presented by David Leng, Chief Executive, Synseal Winner: T & K Home Improvements received by Ryan Johnson, Director Component Supplier of the Year Presented by Gareth Mobely, COE, Solidor Winner: ERA Security received by Darren Waters, COE, Grouphomesafe Darren commented: “Traditionally, we have been seen as the gentleman of the industry, and people may not be aware that we have been manufacturing locks for the last 175 years – one of the oldest lock manufacturers in the world. I want to thank the entire 350 expert employees we have, here in the UK and China for making these products their products, this is for them!” Fabricator of the Year Presented by Colin Torley, Sales and Marketing Director, Veka UK Group Winner: Polyframe received by Chris Watson, Managing Director Glass Company of the Year Presented by Brian Baker, GGF, President Winner: Ravensby Glass Co received by Scott Duncan, Operations Manager Well done to everybody who won an award and good luck for 2015! An Extra Special Tribute Derek Bonnard Award for Excellence was presented to Gary Morton of GM Fundraising for his efforts setting up GM Fundraising. The charity was set up in 1995 by Gary, with monies raised being donated to Manchester based, Hope House Children’s Hospice. Gary’s efforts to raise money and encourage others to join in, support and donate to the cause have been relentless, with the charity now on its way to raising £1million. Dave Broxton, Managing Director of Bohle Limited and longstanding friend presented Gary with his award, along with Joe Hague, managing director for Promac. Gary commented on receiving the award: “I’m shocked, but delighted to receive such a special accolade, but I have to say, this is also a deserved recognition for the all the team of volunteers who also support the cause and help raise money for GM Fundraising.”
