12 DECEMBER 2014 PRO INSTALLER PRO NEWS www.proinstaller.co.uk Working Smart to Grow Work has begun on Smart Architectural Aluminium’s 15,000sqm factory extension in Yatton, North Somerset. Following its relocation to a green field site in 2005, and subsequent expansion in 2010, this development represents the third major expansion phase for the company in just nine years and includes the installation of a third aluminium extrusion press and second paint line, which will add around 50% to the company’s overall manufacturing capacity. Commenting on the work, Eddie Robinson, Managing Director of Smart said: “After a great deal of very constructive, collaborative work with Councillors and the Planning and Economic Development teams at North Somerset Council, we are all delighted to see work starting on site. “As well as delivering a significant increase in capacity to meet the growing demand for our systems from architects, contractors, fabricators and installers across the UK, the expansion programme will also see the installation of two wind turbines, on site. “In keeping with our commitment to deliver sustainable processes and materials the renewable energy turbines will enable our manufacturing plant to become entirely self-sufficient in terms of energy supply. On completion, the expansion programme will also have effectively doubled our existing workforce with over 200 permanent jobs being created.” Construction and installation work will continue into 2015, with the new press and paint line expected to be commissioned by next summer. ‘entirely selfsufficient in terms of energy supply’ For more information visit www.smartsystems.co.uk YOU HAVE FITTED SECURE LOCKS BUT ARE THE WINDOWS SIMPLY LIKE UNLOCKED DOORS TO A BURGLAR? Many homes have double glazed windows where the glass is secured by a beading on the outside. This can easily be removed and is one of the most common ways that burglars get in. Taking out the glass is quick and makes no noise. NO-GO GLASS LOCKS lock the glass into the frame so that the glass cannot be removed without smashing the glass. NO-GO GLASS LOCKS are designed to be easily fitted to existing windows and are a very cost-effective way to make a property even more secure. NO-GO SECURITY PRODUCTS are looking for companies to sell and install our NO-GO GLASS LOCKS. If you would like to expand your business then contact us.
