Give a life-saving
gift this Christmas
At Christmas, families gather together to enjoy the seasonal festivities.
But, amidst the merrymaking, safety can be overlooked.
As candles, Christmas
trees and mountains
of wrapping paper can
cause a fire hazard,
distracted parents may
also struggle to keep
tabs on what dangerous
adventures their excited young children are
having.
It is a sad fact that a
number of children are
killed – and thousands are
injured – through falling
from windows in the UK
every year.
So a leading safety campaigning firm is spreading
the festive message that
“There’s no better Christmas
present than a Jackloc.”
Jackloc, a British family company run by
sisters Emma Well and
Judith Burrows, created the
award-winning, original
universal window and door
restrictor 10 years ago.
Since then, as well as supplying an increasing range
of restrictors, it has also
campaigned tirelessly to educate people on the dangers
of unrestricted windows.
Emma Wells, Director of
Jackloc, said: “It is easy to
get carried away with the
carefree fun of Christmas
but we think it is an ideal
time to also think about
how people can improve
safety in their home.
‘At this time of year, when our
thoughts turn to our loved ones,
we urge people to think about
giving a gift which can save
lives, not just at Christmas but
throughout the years to come.’

we are all too aware of
the risks that unrestricted windows and doors
can pose to children but
also to dementia sufferers, confused vulnerable
adults and even revellers
who have had a little too
much to drink.
